The sound of water says what I think. Chuang Tzu
This time of year, I am reminded of the seasonal shift that's coming soon. The nights are cold, we wake up to frost on the ground and we can't leave the house without a coat. I try to get out as much as possible this time of year to soak up all the sun and fresh air before the snow starts falling on the valley floor.
Today, the boys wanted to go to Swan Lake. If someone didn't tell you about this place, you wouldn't find it. In order to get there, you pass through a slew of new homes and a group of warehouses. The Native Americans wintered in this marsh for thousands of years. It's a beautiful bird watching area and if you're lucky to see them, the Tundra swans winter here every three years or so when it's full of water.
It's just a fun area to visit. Especially in the summer, at sunset. A boardwalk extends into the marsh giving you a really good view of everything around. Oh yum, it's so much fun to be in the middle of this marsh, with all of the cattails surrounding you.
The end of the trail and the happy boys with their sticks..
what cuties! you are in big sky territory. so beautiful!

Nothing is sweeter than following children out into the nature that calls to them. Beautiful. And the Chuang Tzu quote says something I have felt so deeply my whole life. Thank you! Happy to have found your wonderful blog...

it seems like you were the only people in the world. i love that feeling. it is so peaceful. that is sort of what it can be like around here in the late fall and winter. amazing to think when out on a walk like this that there are actually people sitting in offices, plugging away...aren't we amazingly lucky to be visiting places like this.
and your last post...i am currently trying to save up for a nice camera as well...good luck:) be well, xo, pennie
